FUNDRAISING BREAKFAST
April 29, 2008
Guests attending Downtown Hampton Child Development Center's sixth annual fundraising breakfast join the Table Captains who invite them for an hour-long meal and program. Pictured from left: Margo Drucker, Ettalea Kanter, Betty Levin, Anne Caruso, and Table Captain Joanne Roos.
Old Point National Bank Chairman Robert Shuford, Sr. welcomes guests to the breakfast. Old Point sponsored the breakfast for the sixth year, which means all the money raised at the event can be used for the children. In total, DHCDC raised more than $70,000 this year. Also pictured, from left: Rev. Dr. Richard Wills of First Baptist Church of Hampton, Board President Mary K. Wallace, WVEC-TV 13 Sports Director Scott Cash, Virginia Health Care Foundation Deputy Director Judith Cash, and DHCDC parent Bettie Bellstewart.
U.S. Congressman Robert "Bobby" Scott joins local businessman and former DHCDC Board Member Jack Ezzell for a cup of coffee at the breakfast. Both were guests of Jack's wife, Board Member Linda Ezzell.
Children from all three DHCDC locations provided artwork to transform the Holiday Inn banquet hall with colorful decorations. Children from two locations shared what they want to be when they grow up.
Guests from TowneBank enjoy food and conversation at the breakfast. Pictured, from left: Sheri Moore, Becky Pack-Bowen, Carol Jones, Table Captain Cheryl Ziff, and Keith Robinson. Not pictured, or partially pictured: Brian Skinner, Will Pile, Bob Aston, and Susan Harris.
Keynote speaker Judith Cash emphasizes the many benefits of investing in young children. She is watched by her husband Scott Cash (center), who served as master of ceremonies for the sixth year, and Mary Wallace.
